Is there anything better than the smell of food being cooked outside? Our barbecues for hire are great for big and small events alike.
If you’re cooking outside, chances are you are going to be using a barbecue. BBQ hire is incredibly versatile and suitable for all kinds of food. We offer a wide selection of barbecue hire options, from large LPG units for major events to pizza ovens for a backyard cookout. You can also check out our "Street Food Hire" category for even more outdoor catering options.
What barbecue hire is available in the United Kingdom?
We have two standard types of BBQ hire which suit different needs. The Cinders Commercial Gas Barbecue is an industry standard and is great for large events and commercial use. The people who rent barbecues like this generally are looking to serve 100-200 guests, which the Cinders will accomodate. With two separate cooking areas it's possible to do meat and vegetarian on the same barbecue making it easier to serve range of food. We hire barbecues like Cinders out to venues throughout the whole of the country and popularity can be huge in summer, which means stock can get limited.
The 18kw Commercial griddle is a smaller barbecue which is popular with both commercial and private hirers. This barbecue has a flat cooking area which gives great contact to meats and vegetables, and we find people rent barbecues like this one for pop-up events where food can be kept warm on one side.
We also hire BBQ pizza ovens for people looking for something different.
Do you need to order gas?
All of our LPG equipment is supplied without gas bottles. Please order separately if you need them
- 13kg LPG Bottles are suitable for patio heaters
- 19kg LPG Bottles are suitable for all other LPG equipment we stock
- 30mm wrench required to attach bottles to equipment - can also be hired separately
- If using your own gas bottle, please make sure the connector is compatible. We use a standard bayonet fitting on all of our LPG products.
- If unsure about connecting bottles to equipment utilise a Gas Safe Engineer
What do I need to know about Barbecue Hire?
When you hire an LPG barbecue from us, rest assured that all equipment is cleaned, checked, and tested before dispatch. Our gas barbecues are regularly serviced by a Gas Safe engineer, and certification is available upon request.
Please note that our drivers cannot attach or set up LPG equipment. If you don't feel safe doing this yourself, we recommend hiring a Gas Safe engineer. Spanners and gas bottles can be hired separately if needed.
Do I Need to Clean the Barbecue Before Collection?
Worried about cleaning catering equipment hire after your occasion or event? If time is a factor or you know you’ve got too much else to de-rig, then our "send it back dirty" service is what you need.
Catering equipment can be hard to clean after a hire period of full usage – especially ovens and barbecues. Rather than breaking out the scourer, for 25% of the hire price you can leave it all to us. Just wipe off any food debris or liquid and we’ll sort the rest.

There’s no need to worry about a damage deposit when placing an event hire order with Expo Hire. Instead, we run a free minor damage waiver scheme to cover minor damage or loss, so you don’t need to worry if you break the odd glass or plate. We do charge for excessive or negligent loss or damage at 10x the hire price. Please check our terms and conditions for full details.
How delivery and collection works
Working out delivery costs is easy with Expo Hire; simply use our carriage calculator to find which of our branches is near to you. Tap your postcode in and it will confirm not only whether we cover that postcode or not, but also which of our 11 branches is closest to you and the cost for delivery from that branch, as well as the list of possible extra charges. Heavy furniture like sofas or equipment like large fridges will require a second person in the van and this will be added in the checkout.
Once you have filled your basket and confirmed your delivery dates and postcode in the checkout, we will show you an itemised cost for delivery so you know exactly what you’re paying for before you place your order.
Want to know when your delivery is coming? You can track your driver using our real time maps on the day of delivery and collection. Simply enter your postcode and order number into our order tracking page and find out when our driver will be with you. You can also use the link we send you by automated text.
