Gerrards Cross is a town in Buckinghamshire, spanning the foothills of the Chiltern Hills and the right bank of the River Misbourne. It is located to the southwest of Beaconsfield and north of Slough. The town has a railway station on the Chiltern Main Line, while the M40 runs beside woodland on the southern boundary of the town. Gerrards Cross did not exist in any formal sense until 1859 when it was formed from parts of three other nearby parishes to form a new ecclesiastical parish. It was named after the Gerrard family who in the early 17th century owned a manor near to the town.
